Secrets to a Healthy Life and how to Succeed and Experience Favor

Pastor Gene Speich-Sunday 6/2/13

1.  Sense of Purpose & Vision:  Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth…”  Being meek is the opposite of doing your own thing.  The promise is that the meek will have favor and be blessed.  Focus on the Lord and what His purpose and will is for your life.  The key is to be submissive to God’s plan and purpose.    What is God’s purpose for you?

2.  Excellence:  Colossians 3:23 “and whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord, and not unto men.”  We must work as though Christ were our employer.  There is a reward.  We need a standard and goal (Paul pressed toward the mark.)  Be the best in your assignment and purpose.  Don’t get sidetracked into other things.  There is a battle to fight and a price to pay.  It will not come easy.

3.  Contribution:  Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love,  which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints and do minister.”  The Lord created us and saved us to be able, in our lifetime, to be fruitful and contribute.  We can contribute through worship, praise, prayer, giving, work or just consume.  We can build or tear down-be fruitful or barren.

4.  Responsibility:  Proverbs 28:13 He that covers his sins, shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.  Admit when you are wrong.  Acknowledge, confess and ask forgiveness.

5.  Effort:  Proverbs 10:4  “He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.”  What is your daily routine?  Prayer-Word-work-mingle with others-meditate-maintain a life full of the Holy Spirit.

6.  Time-Management:  Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply or hearts unto wisdom.”  Everyone has been given the same number of hours in a day.  Prioritize the most important things in your life.  1)Lord  2)Family  3)Work and Ministry

7.  Stick with your Assignment &  God’s Purpose for Your Life:  Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”  If we walk in contradiction to what God has called us to do, expect painful experiences.  Jonah is an example of this.
